I have known, and been a customer of, David Foster for approximately 20 years. I am perfectly happy to give David's work an unqualified recommendation of the highest possible form!

Time and time again David has proven himself that rare craftsman who can as easily accomplish rough framing work as he can the absolute finest of finish work. David is perfectly capable of working alone and bar none is the most capable, competent and honest craftsman I have ever known.

In the time that I've known and worked with David he has worked on the following types of jobs with and for me,

In 1992 David and I worked together doing all the rough framing on a 1200 sf single family house I designed and built for my Mother, David completed all of the final framing and finish work once we had all of the rough work done.

In '92 David fully renovated my kitchen and multiple bathrooms in my main house and second house.

In '96 David converted a detached one car garage into an efficiency loft apartment with kitchen and bath. This job included the installation of a circular staircase and the replacement of a single hung window with an enormous double window with half round.

I have used David frequently over the years to renovate different living spaces in my main house and in rental properties I own. David has done finish work for me including but not limited to exquisite finish trim in the formal living areas of my house.

In '93 David added a front porch onto my main house, which included new windows, doors, blowing out the front foyer and a porch roof over the entire front of the house.

In '05 David ripped out the walls in my formal dining room and replaced them with kneewalls and finished piers.

In '07 David added new closets and finish trim to my master bedroom suite.

David designed and constructed an incredible screened gazebo over an old shed pad and fully replanked a pier that the gazebo overlooks.

David's work is at all times within code and is of the highest structural integrity & quality, an imperative in this area.

Quite simply if you desire a top notch professional with an eye towards quality & excellence you cannot possibly do better than David Foster!

David Foster came highly-recommended to me from an associate who had used him for a variety of projects at a commercial marina, and he subsequently met that reputation on several jobs at my residential property over the past few years. David has the experience to handle new construction as well as repairs & renovations, and works equally well from either formal plans or being involved in the design process himself. As a "Jack of All Trades", he's a skilled craftsman who is adept at framing, roofing, finish carpentry, etc. His attention to detail was much appreciated - if part of the job didn't come together to David's satisfaction, he would stop and "make it right" before proceeding. Throughout the project he remained budget-conscientious, sourcing multiple suppliers as needed, and leaving little or no excess/scrap materials. I would highly recommend DNF Carpentry to anyone needing the services of a reliable, experienced, affordable solution to their home construction needs.

The following review is actually a testimonial for David Foster. David started working on my projects back in 1985, first on a barn/apartment, then building my home and garage. He was a carpenter on those projects but stood out in attitude, character and performance. Thus when my next major project, Avondale Center, began in 1990, David was hired as the Project Manager. He and one laborer built this 12,000 square foot commercial building, plus he managed the subcontractors. After completion, David was contracted to do many smaller marina projects that required his carpentry expertise. In 2000, Zahniser's Yachting Center started building a 36 foot yacht with David, although until then he had no previous experience on boats, as the Carpenter and Project Manager. The yacht's custom cabinetry and finish was of the highest standard, far exceeding house cabinetry in difficulty and quality. From 2002 to 04, David constructed The Dry Dock Restaurant building for Zahniser's, as Project Manager and sole carpenter. Today we continue to call on his expertise.

David has garnered my highest respect and admiration, as a person, carpenter and trusted friend. He has an eye for quality. I have repeatedly invested my confidence in his abilities and never been anything but pleased. He has contributed a great deal to my success.
